ARTICULATION EVALUATION AND THERAPY

Children should be producing all sounds in the English language by age 8. When those sounds are difficult for your child to produce, KCSP can provide the therapy needed to address this concern.

STUTTERING EVALUATION AND THERAPY

Stuttering can impact young children and adults.  For young children, therapy centers on the family and modifications that can be made in the home.

For adults and adolescents who stutter, school, social lives, and jobs can be greatly impacted.  KCSP can provide direct therapy to help you understand stuttering and learn strategies to increase speaking fluency.

LANGUAGE EVALUATION AND TREATMENT

By age 1, children should be saying their first word.  Around 18-months, a child has a typical vocabulary of 50 words.  By age 2, children should be putting two words together.

Is your child a "late talker"?  Are you concerned that your younger child is not using pronouns or verb tenses correctly?  Does your child have difficulty following directions or understanding wh-questions?  These are all valid concerns that KCSP can evaluate and provide treatment for if a language delay or disorder is present.

COMPENSATORY SKILLS TRAINING FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL, HIGH SCHOOL, AND COLLEGE

KCSP offers a 4-6 week program that teaches note-taking, study skills, test-taking, and additional skills to help older students become more independent in the academic setting.  This program was created for students with dyslexia, but is beneficial for any individual looking to make their academic career more manageable and less stressful.
